Ban Aversive Training Collars

The Mayhew Animal Home is campaigning to ban the use of aversive training collars for dogs. Prong and shock collars – which inflict pain on dogs – can be used legally as training aids to help modify behaviour. The collars can cause serious physical injuries, especially when misused, such as sprained necks, oesophageal damage, vertebrae damage and even death by strangulation. There is no excuse for inflicting pain on a dog.
