Ban Primate Experiments
Every year, thousands of monkeys are used in cruel and senseless experiments. They are poisoned to death in drug 'safety' tests and are deliberately brain-damaged during the study of neurological disorders. They have electrodes implanted in their heads, can be denied food and water, and are often made to perform frustrating, repetitive tasks.
Not only do these experiments cause immense suffering but they are also dangerously misleading for humans, because of the significant biological differences between humans and monkeys.
We, the undersigned, call upon the government to support a ban on the use of primates in experiments through European Directive 86/609/EEC.
