Nationwide art and poetry competition
Animal Aid invites your pupils to take part in its second nationwide art and poetry competition. The theme is factory farming – a subject that stirs the emotions, fires the imagination and can provoke powerful artwork. Why not set this as a class project? This competition would give your students the opportunity to research this subject in greater detail and to express their own opinions – whatever they may be!
The competition is divided into three age categories: 11-13, 14-16, and 17-18. All entries should be clearly marked on the back with the student’s name, age and school address and sent to the Animal Aid office before 6th May 2010. We will be pleased to accept bulk entries from whole classes!
The winning entries will be displayed at a London event during the summer, where the winners will be awarded their prizes.
For inspiration, posters, leaflets and factsheets on factory farming are available for free from Animal Aid, just email education@animalaid.co.uk.
Artwork can be submitted on any media – sculpture, drawing, painting, photography, computer graphic design. Sizes A5-A3 preferred (sculpture excluded).
Digital entries can be emailed to education@animalaid.co.uk, please ensure that the email includes student’s name, age and school address.
