Last chance to support parliamentary Bill to test animal tests

Posted 29 October 2009

Early Day Motion 569 (Safety of Medicines) calls on the Government 'to initiate an unprecedented comparison of currently required animal tests with a set of human biology-based tests'. The EDM will close in the second week of November, so please contact your MP urgently, either to ask them to sign it or – if they already have – to ask them to take up the Safety of Medicines (Evaluation) Bill in the Private Members' Ballot on 26th November.

Please check the list of MPs who have signed already (it helps to select alphabetical order) and:

  1. If yours is not there, urge them to sign EDM 569 – please see the wording suggested by Safer Medicines Campaign. Please hurry – the EDM will close in the second week of November, so there are only a few days left!
  2. If your MP has signed EDM 569, please write to thank them and ask them to consider taking up the Safety of Medicines (Evaluation) Bill in the Ballot on 26th November. If your MP is one of the 7 lucky MPs chosen in the Ballot for a Private Members' Bill, it is very important that you encourage them to put forward this Bill in preference to the multitude of other bills they will be asked to support!

Please contact your MP today!
