Animal Aid

Youth Art and Poetry Competition 2012

Posted 7 March 2012

Do you know a budding young artist or poet who is passionate about animal issues? Animal Aid has launched its fourth nationwide Art and Poetry Competition for 11-14 year olds. We have sent competition details to all UK secondary schools inviting them to set class projects, but you don’t have to enter through a school. We welcome individual entries as well.

This year there is a theme for each age group:
Year 7 - Caring for animals
Year 8 - Factory farming
Year 9 - Animals in captivity.

We hope that young people will be encouraged to research and express their own opinions through a powerful piece of artwork or poetry. Judging by the standard of previous competitions, we anticipate some exciting entries and encourage all who take part to be as imaginative as possible - all forms of poetry and art will be accepted. Submissions should be clearly marked on the back with name, year group, age and address. Send to: Art and Poetry Competition, Animal Aid, The Old Chapel, Bradford Street, Tonbridge, Kent, TN9 1AW. Deadline is 30th March.
