Terry Stewart walks an amazing 104
Posted 1 February 2005
Congratulations to Terry Stewart for walking 104 miles from Scarborough to Chesterfield!
Terry took 4 days to complete the walk and arrived in Chesterfield at 3.45pm on Sunday 27th March. Terry was supported by Yorkshire radio and had lots of encouragement from the general public along the way.
Terry has a rare genetic condition that has led to several operations and ongoing health problems, but he does not let that prevent him from doing lots of campaigning and fundraising in Yorkshire where he lives.
Thank you so much to Animal Aid supporters for raising an amazing £7,700! I rang him just before he set off to let him know that Animal Aid supporters were behind him and he was over the moon! He is now putting his blistered feet up and having a well deserved rest but has hinted at doing another next year!
Thank you to all of you who supported Terry - and thank you, Terry. Everyone at Animal Aid is very grateful.
Animal Aid's annual sponsored walk on Hampstead Heath takes place on 12th June. We would love you to join us. Click here for more details.
