Music industry icon Siouxsie Sioux donates unique memorabilia
Posted 1 June 2005
Punk Queen Siouxsie Sioux - winner of the 2005 Mojo magazine "Icon" Award announced last week - has generously donated an exclusive package of rarities for Animal Aid to auction.
The most exclusive item is the card announcing Siouxsie as the winner of the Mojo Icon Award, read out at the event by U2's The Edge, and which she has signed to authenticate. This unique collectible has been touched by no less than two of the biggest musicians in the world!
Sioux Records have also donated a rare Siouxsie t-shirt, featuring on the front a version of a 1983 picture of Siouxsie updated by designers DED for the 2004 Dream Show USA Tour, with the 100% Pure Siouxsie logo on the back. This t-shirt sold out during the USA tour and was not on sale in the UK so is therefore very hard to come by. There is also a rare photo signed by Siouxsie and her fellow Banshee/Creature, Budgie.
For genuine fans and collectors, this is a fantastic package of Siouxsie & the Banshees goodies. The Mojo Awards card is a genuine, one-off item. Collectors would be crazy to miss out on acquiring a piece of rock music history.
If you would like to meet Siouxsie in person, she will be signing copies of her new DVD at HMV, 150 Oxford Street on the 25th of July at 6pm. Singing is limited to the first 500 people who will need to purchase a DVD from 9am on the day, and collect a wrist band to ensure a place in the queue.
