Go Cruelty-free
Changing the world has to start somewhere, and the easiest place is with you! By changing your lifestyle you become part of the solution, not part of the problem! There are lots of ways in which you can help animals by changing the way you live your life.
- Go Veggie
- Be a cruelty-free shopper
- Don’t wear or buy products containing any animal-derived materials such as fur, skin (leather), silk, feathers, ivory, etc.
- Be a responsible pet owner
- Be a humane donor – only give donations to medical charities that use non-animal research methods. (View our list of charities that do and don’t test)
- Avoid visiting zoos, aquaria or circuses with performing animals (Check out the Captive animals section)
- Avoid using cruel traps. If you have a problem with unwanted visitors, such as mice, use a more humane trap rather than a cruel one such as a glue trap (Check out our Unwanted visitors – humane deterrents section)
- Be environmentally aware. Don’t drop litter; try to reduce your carbon footprint by walking or cycling rather than taking the car. Download our Climate Change factsheet
