Speakers at school

speaker in a classroom

Animal Aid has a national network of volunteers who are available to give school talks on a range of issues including animal rights, vegetarianism, factory farming, animal experiments and hunting.

The talks can be tailored to fit in with your citizenship, English, or religious education classes and some speakers can even give a vegetarian cookery demonstration in food technology as well as a talk. Ask your teacher if you can invite a speaker to give a talk during a lesson. Tell him or her that animal issues are a great topic for stimulating debate and discussion. Ask your teacher to visit the Animal Aid website to book a talk, or to call us on 01732 364546 ext 234 for more details.

Alternatively, you could arrange for a speaker to come in to give a public talk during lunchtime. Arrange to have the use of a classroom and DVD facilities. Put up eye-catching posters on notice boards around the school a week before to invite all students to the talk. These will need to say what the talk is about, whether or not a film is going to be shown, plus when and where the talk will be taking place.
