Fantastic Friends!

Hannah and Alex protesting against the Canadian seal huntIf you read the Summer issue of Youth Rage, you will have seen this picture of Hannah and Alex at the demonstration against the Canadian seal hunt in their personally designed protest t-shirts. We thought we’d take some time to get to know what else this pair are involved in.

Besides collecting money for Animal Aid at school and being involved in our seal protests, they have also distributed leaflets in their local area. Hannah and Alex are also eco-monitors at their school and have set up a recycling scheme for the whole school and are developing a composting scheme.

Hannah and potbellied pigWhen on holiday in Cyprus (lucky girl!), Hannah and her family helped out at a stray cat sanctuary and ‘adopted’ a rescued miniature Vietnamese potbellied pig. At home, they keep an eye out for the local wildlife – Hannah has rescued birds, hedgehogs and rabbits that were abandoned or injured.

Most recently, Hannah and her family were lucky enough to take Pippa home from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. Pippa the dogPoor Pippa was found wandering the streets of London, very thin and scared. She’s really landed on her feet and is showing her fun nature.

Hannah is one of our youth contacts, so if you’d like to chat to her more, you can contact her at HannahM@youth4animals.com.
