Coffee and Craft Fundraiser

Georgia and Connie

Youth members Georgia and Connie, both 13 years old, recently held a very creative fundraising morning. They got together some used juice cartons and cereal packets, cleaned them, and then wove them into pencil pots, purses, place mats and bags! Then they organised a coffee morning, advertising it in their local area and invited people to Georgia’s house. With the help of their parents, they made some cakes, which they sold along with coffee and tea and their recycled products. They raised a fantastic £115!

They also held an exhibition and workshop at the Eden Project, where they showed visitors how to make their fab recycled products!

Earlier in the year, Connie and Georgia, along with their friend Saskia, were horrified by a school project on animal testing and decided to collect signatures door-to-door on Animal Aid petitions. They made their own leaflets to give people with the names of companies that do not test on animals, making it easier for the shoppers of Penzance to buy cruelty-free. We are inspired by their hard work and creative thinking - and we hope you are too!
