Get involved: Our anti-shooting week of action begins next week

The shooting season is under way. Millions of purpose-bred, terrified birds will be driven into the skies to be shot for “sport”. Deliberately bringing animals into this world just to derive pleasure from extinguishing their lives is unspeakably cruel and must be stopped.

We would love as many of you as possible to order free leaflets to distribute in your town centre, outside your local train station or via your street stalls during our ‘week of action’, 20-28 September 2025, (which actually spans two weekends to give us as much opportunity as possible to raise awareness).

We need your help because many people do not realise that:

  • Pheasants and partridges are mass produced – often on factory farms – just to be shot
  • The biomass of all released pheasants and partridges in late summer is greater than all native birds put together
  • The release of up to 60 million pheasants and partridges every year is devastating our native plants and animals and wreaking havoc on biodiversity

You can help our campaign by ordering leaflets and posters – even an hour or two of handing out leaflets to the public can make a huge difference.

The shooting industry must be stopped. By volunteering just an hour of your time to share our leaflets and resources, you’ll be making a huge difference.

These leaflets accompany our report, Killing Our Countryside (also available for download), covering both the intensive animal abuse and the environmental damage caused by the shooting industry.
