We launched with a two-week takeover of our Hounds of the Underground campaign across major London tube stations – garnering mass public attention and driving signatures for our petition to end greyhound racing. We are currently at the 7K mark, so we need 3,000 more to reach the first milestone of 10,000 signatures and trigger a response from the UK government!

Our campaign to end greyhound racing officially launched on the 11th August, and we have been overwhelmed with the number of people who have taken action, and the support shown from the British public. Here's a look back at what's been happening during the last two weeks!

Hounds of the Underground
Our week of action kicked off on Monday (18th), and thanks to the amazing work of Shut Down Campaigns and Animal Freedom Network, there has been peaceful demo at every single active race track across England this week (with more happening today!).
We also held a peaceful demo in Central London. People who care about animals gathered to hold placards, hand out leaflets, encourage people to sign the petition and chat to passers-by about the suffering racing greyhounds endure.

We also had a two-week social media takeover, engaging with lots of lovely new followers who are just as passionate about ending greyhound racing as we are. Lots of orders came through for our campaign resources – so we’ve been sending out stickers, leaflets, posters & postcards!

Crucially, our campaign is standing on the shoulders of giants: the grassroots groups, activists and rescue organisations who have dedicated decades of their time to campaign for these wonderful animals. This story belongs to them; we are here to amplify their work and help ensure an end to greyhound racing for good.
