Mango and Banana Fruit Smoothie

This delicious smoothie is also high in omega-3 fatty acids. Part of our Good Food Ideas series.

    • Serves: 2
      • Prep time: 2 mins
      • Cook time: 5 mins
  • 1 medium ripe mango
  • 1 large ripe banana
  • 200ml fresh orange juice
  • 200ml vanilla soya drink (or similar non-dairy drink)
  • 1 tbsp of flaxseed oil or ground flaxseeds
  1. Cut the mango down either side of the flat stone, then peel and slice off the fruit in chunks.
  2. Peel and chop the banana
  3. Put all the ingredients in a food liquidiser, and blend until smooth and thick. (If it’s too thick, add more milk or juice and whizz again.)
  4. Keep in the fridge and drink the day you make it.
  • For a thicker, cooler smoothie, use 150g of frozen mango instead of the fresh mango.
  • Try replacing some or all of the soya milk with coconut milk, non-dairy ice cream (like Swedish Glace or supermarket own brand) or soya yoghurt (fruit or plain)
  • Experiment with different fruit combination – peaches, kiwi fruit, passion fruit and melon all work well.
