New footage from Hunt Sabs Association exposes a litany of wildlife persecution

An investigation by the Hunt Saboteurs Association (HSA) has uncovered the persecution of wildlife in order to protect shooting interests. Evidence collected just metres from a footpath at the Welbeck Estate reveals a snare set on a badger run, as well as the use of poisons and traps to kill other animals.

It is an offence to intentionally set a snare near to a badger run and, in the HSA footage, a young badger can clearly be seen just behind the snare. The HSA also found alarming evidence suggesting that a badger had previously been caught in a snare – as well as dead, poisoned rats in the vicinity.

Although snares have been banned in Wales and Scotland – and despite a promise by the government that they will also be banned in England – we are still waiting for the government to implement the ban.

How many more wild animals will face persecution by the shooting industry, just because they are scapegoated for potentially interfering with the smooth running of a shoot?
