Going vegan doesn’t mean you have to live without fudge!

There are many different ways to veganise fudge but some may find recipes to be too sweet and full of processed ingredients. This recipe offers a healthier version, sweetened with natural fruit syrup and creamed coconut as the main ingredient. It offers a nutritious treat, by including superfood goji berries and orange zest.

For a more traditional flavour, you may use icing sugar to sweeten, instead of syrup.

200g Creamed coconut (one pack)
½ cup cocoa/cacao powder
½ cup fruit, maple or agave syrup
1 tbsp vanilla extract
Large pinch of sea salt
Zest of one orange
2 tbsp goji berries

  1. Add all the ingredients into a pan and on a low heat stir until the coconut has melted and all ingredients are combined.
  2. Pour into a lined/greased tin/tray and flatten with the back of a spoon.
  3. Pop in the freezer for one hour. Remove from the freezer and let fudge sit at room temperature for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from tin and cut into cubes.
