Our Hounds of the Underground campaign shows greyhounds as you've never seen them before and calls on the government to end this cruel and outdated sport.
Our Hounds of the Underground campaign launched in August 2025 to widespread public support. The campaign kicked off with a two-week takeover of major London Underground stations, sharing the stories of industry survivors and raising awareness of this sorry excuse for a ‘sport’.
Working with Shut Down Campaigns and Animal Freedom Network, we hosted a week of action which saw a peaceful demonstration at every single active racetrack in England! We are keeping momentum up with regular demos and more weeks of action, so please check out our action hub for the campaign or get in touch if you’d like to be involved.
Importantly, all this work is directing people to sign our government petition – the first step in getting this cruel ‘sport’ banned once and for all.
Survivors of the racing industry, affectionately known as our Hounds of the Underground, popped up on billboards across London’s tube stations. The artwork shared the stories of rescued greyhounds Molly, Dakota, Sid and Elsie with bright, colourful visuals that boldly called on passersby to take notice – and take action.
The ads called on people to sign our government petition to end greyhound racing – if you haven’t already, please don’t delay! We need 10,000 signatures for a government response and 100,000 for the issue to be debated in parliament.
You can also get in touch with your MP and ask them to sign this EDM!
With the help of the teams at Shut Down Campaigns and Animal Freedom Network, we hosted a week of action, which saw local activists across the country take to their local racetracks and town centres to raise awareness of greyhound racing.
In total, there were 17 peaceful demos – one at every single active racetrack in England! – plus support demonstrations in Bournemouth and Sheffield town centres. 200 volunteers got involved and media coverage reached from Kent to Swindon and Harlow.
To support the activists on the ground, we mailed out over 5,000 leaflets, 2,400 stickers, 400 posters and almost 2,000 postcards! All our resources are free to order and make direct action like this possible.
We plan to keep up momentum with regular demonstrations, so please get in touch if you’re ready to join a growing movement committed to ending greyhound racing.
Some of the greatest legal progress for social justice issues began with petitioning the government. If we want to ban the cruel and exploitative racing of greyhounds, this is where we begin: with a government petition.
If you haven’t already added your name to the petition, please don’t delay! We need 10,000 signatures for a government response and 100,000 for the issue to be debated in parliament.
If you’ve already signed and want to do more, you can also get in touch with your MP and ask them to sign this EDM.
Whether you’re a seasoned campaigner or taking your first steps into animal activism, please join the growing movement to ban greyhound racing.

This campaign belongs to them; we are here to amplify their work and help get a ban across the finish line.
Thank you to every single person who has been involved in this campaign so far – we couldn’t do it without you.
