Action Hub for Greyhounds

Welcome to the Animal Aid action hub against greyhound racing: a one-stop-shop for anyone looking to end the cruelty in their local area - and beyond!

In 2024, a dog died on a British racetrack every three days. [1]

Tens of thousands of dogs are bred every year in Britain and Ireland to be raced, and thousands of them are injured and killed, either on the track, or simply because they aren’t fast enough to line the pockets of their owners. [2] It’s a brutal industry, but people like you across the UK and beyond are fighting to end it.

Is your local area hosting dog racing?

Use the map below to find your nearest greyhound racetrack – and join the campaign to close it! Click on each marker to find out what you can do to help, either from your own home, or out in the streets raising awareness and protesting for change.

What can you do?

Animal Aid has launched a government petition seeking a ban on greyhound racing. We need 10,000 signatures to get a government response, and 100,000 to get a debate in parliament.

Sign and share the petition today

An Early Day Motion (EDM) has been tabled in parliament, which currently has 25 MPs’ signatures on it. Is your MP one of them? If not, use our email template to contact them, and ask them to sign. You can find your MP’s email address using the government website.

Is there a greyhound racetrack in your local community? Thanks to Shutdown Campaigns and Animal Freedom Network dozens of dedicated local activists, each stadium in Britain has an active group opposing it with protests and public outreach. If you would like to get involved, use the map above to find the contact details for each local group.

Have you ever worked or volunteered at a greyhound track, kennels, training track, or any other business involved with greyhound racing? We want to hear from whistleblowers who have seen anything that made them uncomfortable. If that sounds like you, now is your chance to help greyhounds by sending us a comment and any supporting evidence:
