School Trips to Animal Sanctuaries

Our school trips give children a unique opportunity to engage with animals in a sanctuary setting, where they can learn to treat all creatures with kindness and respect. Unlike traditional farm visits, our focus is not on using animals for human purposes. Instead, children observe, interact and learn about animals as sentient beings with their own lives.

Curriculum Links and Learning Benefits
Our visits can enrich your teaching of the curriculum in many ways. While curriculum connections such as science, geography, food technology and STEM subjects can guide teaching in the classroom, the benefits of being outdoors and experiencing something different are equally important. Outdoor learning supports physical and mental wellbeing, encourages curiosity and often helps children who may struggle or disengage in the classroom to come into their own.

Children will have the chance to observe memorable events such as the behaviour and care of animals, which can spark empathy and a lifelong respect for living creatures. Our visits are designed to be flexible, allowing teachers and children to explore and learn at their own pace while connecting experiences back to curriculum goals.

Planning Your Visit
To make sure your visit meets both educational and experiential goals, we recommend collaborating closely with us. Together we can plan a visit that is engaging, safe and educational. You can share details in advance about what you would like pupils to gain from the experience, which we can ensure becomes a part of your bespoke visit.

Our trips are suitable for early years, primary and secondary students and can be tailored to suit a variety of subjects and learning objectives. Most importantly, they offer a chance for children to develop compassion, respect and a deeper understanding of animals’ lives.
