Great British Circus u-turn

Posted on the 29th August 2012

It has been confirmed that the Great British Circus will continue to use animals in its performances, despite recent news reports to the contrary.

Last week, it was reported that the circus would no longer be using animals, but a story published at the weekend stated this was inaccurate. The Captive Animals Protection Society managed to verify with the journalist who wrote the piece that Martin Lacey, owner of the Great British Circus, insisted that its animal use will continue.

The news comes as a huge disappointment to campaigners and members of the public alike, and highlights how important it is for the government to step in and implement a complete ban on the use of animals in circuses.
