Demand an answer on snares!

Following our government petition reaching the 100,000 signatures needed to trigger a parliamentary debate, the Petitions Committee has stated that it is keen to set a date for the debate – but is waiting for the government to announce a date for the long-awaited Call for Evidence on Snares first.

Back in May 2021, the Government published its Action Plan for Animal Welfare, which promised to ‘launch a call for evidence on the use of snares’.  Since then, repeated requests about the launch date for the Call for Evidence have been met with the response that it will take place ‘in due course’.

We need the Minister to set a date for the Call for Evidence now!
