New footage exposes horrific abuse of elephants at Great British Circus

Undercover footage released by Animal Defenders International shows shocking scenes of elephants being hit in the face with a metal elephant hook, kept chained up for up to eleven hours a day, and displaying abnormal repetitive movements indicative of mental suffering.

Despite widespread opposition to the use of animals in circuses, and studies showing that circus life is extremely detrimental to the welfare of wild animals, the government has still not banned this cruelty.
