National Anti-Shooting Leafleting
Animal Aid’s National Anti-Shooting Leafleting takes place at the end of the September, just ahead of the start of the pheasant shooting season.
Our new anti-shooting campaign Killing Our Countryside, was formally launched by wonderful Animal Aid patron, Chris Packham, in May.
Every year, around 40-60 million non-native pheasants and partridges are released into the British countryside, trampling native plants and outcompeting wildlife for food. Toxic lead from gunshot pollutes the land and waterways, poisoning animals – all this devastation for the fleeting entertainment of a few wealthy gunowners.
Our new campaign builds on existing opposition to the shooting industry by bringing together the support of naturalists, animal lovers and those who are passionate about the environment.
