Going vegan for your health

We do not need to eat animal products to stay fit and healthy. Far from it. The evidence is conclusive: a balanced, varied, plant-based diet is actually very healthy.

A plant-based diet can provide all of the nutrients you need to live a happy, healthy life.

[W]ell-planned vegan diets can support healthy living in people of all ages. – British Dietetic Association.

[A]ppropriately planned vegetarian, including vegan, diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits for the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. These diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, adolescence, older adulthood, and for athletes. – American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

What’s more, the NHS in the UK is clear that a properly balanced vegan diet is healthy for all age groups, as well as nursing mothers. Read their guidance.
